这是杨振宁先生2004年4月20日在人民大会堂《中国科学与人文论坛》上的演讲。1929年我父亲就任清华大学算学系教授。我们一家搬入了清华园居住。那时我是7岁。在清华园里我过了8年的童年生活,直到1937年抗战开始。关于那8年的生活,我曾在1983年的一篇演讲中这样描述:清华园的8年在我的回忆中是非常美丽、非常幸福的。那时中国社会十分动荡,内忧外患,困难很多。但我们生活在清华园的围墙里头,不大与外界接触。我在这样一个被保护起来的环境里度过了童年。今年我即将82岁了。最近搬回清华园居住。我的一生走了一个大圈,在清华园长大,于60多年以后,又回到了故园。回归几个月,感想良多。今天我就和大家谈谈我的几点感触和反思。
This is Mr. Yang Zhenning’s speech on “China Science and Humanities Forum” held on April 20, 2004 in the Great Hall of the People. In 1929 my father became Professor of Mathematics Department of Tsinghua University. Our family moved to Tsinghua University to live. At that time I was 7 years old. In Tsinghua University I spent eight years of childhood, until the war began in 1937. As for the eight years of life, I described it in a speech in 1983: Eight years of Tsinghua Park are very beautiful and very happy in my memory. At that time, Chinese society was in turmoil, with internal and external problems and difficulties. However, we live in the fence of Tsinghua University inside, not with the outside world. I spent my childhood in such a protected environment. I am about 82 years old this year. Recently moved back to Tsinghua University to live. My life walked a big circle, grew up in Tsinghua University, more than 60 years later, returned to the hometown. Return to a few months, feeling a lot. Today I will talk to you about my feeling and reflection.
