Due to the lack of standards in CTI, network administrators have been unable to deliver data that uses a single network to transmit and manage voice and rely on a single-platform approach, but things are going to change. JTAPI (Java Telephony API) is a portable API developed in close collaboration with Sun, IBM, Intel, Lucent Technologies, Northern Telecom, and Novell. The goal is to make Java available to phones, computers, and the Internet Other devices are connected.
