2003年11月11日至20日,中共中央政治局委员、广东省委书记张德江同志亲自率领广东省经济贸易代表团访问南美三国(智利、巴西、阿根廷)并开展系列经贸活动。经贸团多数企业家是第一次踏足南美考察市场、洽谈贸易。经贸团的到来受到南美三国当地政府高层和媒体的高度重视,在当地引起强烈反响。智利《信使报》,阿根廷国家电视7台、11台,巴西环球电视台等多家主流媒体到会采访、报道。
