在氯化鋁的催化影響下以丁二酸酐作用於環已烯而製得γ-(Δ~1-環已烯基)-γ-丁酮酸。其他的Lewis酸如氯化鐵及氯化錫都經用作催化劑而進行試驗;但未得滿意的結果。將γ-(Δ~1-環己烯基)-γ-丁酮酸還原為γ-(Δ~1-環己烯基)丁酸時,Wolff-Kishner及黄鳴龍的方法都經過了試驗,但僅前法獲得成功。最後將广γ-(Δ~1-環己烯基)-丁酸環化而成Δ~(9∶10) -α-八氫萘酮則是以通常的Darzens法完成的。
Under the catalytic influence of aluminum chloride, succinic anhydride acts on cyclohexene to prepare γ- (Δ-1-cyclohexenyl) -γ-butanoic acid. Other Lewis acids such as ferric chloride and stannic chloride have been tested for use as catalysts; however, unsatisfactory results have been obtained. The method of Wolff-Kishner and Huangminglong has been tested for the reduction of γ- (Δ-1-cyclohexenyl) -γ-butanone to γ- (Δl-cyclohexenyl) Only the former method succeeded. The cyclization of γ- (Δ ~ 1-cyclohexenyl) -butyric acid to Δ ~ (9:10) -α-octahydronaphthalenone is accomplished by the usual Darzens method.
