The Slit2 / Robo1 signaling pathway is an evolutionarily conserved ligand receptor system. This signaling pathway plays an important role in the distribution of nerve cells, migration, and axon guidance. Slit2 and its transmembrane receptor Robo1 protein distribution in gliomas are different. Slit2 is poorly expressed in hairy astrocytomas and glioblastomas, whereas Robo1 is overexpressed in all grades of gliomas. The invasion and invasion mechanism of malignant glioma cells includes the alteration of multiple genes of multiple signaling pathways. Although the molecular mechanism by which the Slit2 / Robo1 signaling pathway inhibits tumors remains unclear, it has been reported that the inhibitory effect on the invasion of glioma cells is achieved by inhibiting the activity of Cdc42-GTP. This article mainly discusses the role of Slit2 / Robo1 signaling pathway in glioma. With the further research on molecular mechanism of Slit2 / Robo1 signaling pathway, it will provide new strategies and ideas for the effective treatment of glioblastoma.
