临安人讲究吃,大街小巷,南北各地,甚至国外的菜肴应有尽有,丰富的物产和吴越文化的熏陶形成了临安独特的地方菜谱,吴越十锦、钱王四喜鼎、彭祖益寿鸡都是临安耳熟能详的菜肴,而笋菜则是临安的一大特色。对食客们而言,路边摊才是最诱人的去处,刚出笼的上梁馒头、油煎的昌北玉米饼、小炉子上烤着的天目香薯,另外还有茶叶、笋干、山核桃、腌黄瓜、稻香肉、马啸的黄牛肉、山里小豆腐、斑竹寿星鸡、天目源甲鱼……这是属于临安的独一无二的味道,是临安人无论走到哪里都会想念的家乡美食。
