Finland is a major producer of phosphate, talc and wollastonite in Western Europe and is also a major consumer of kaolin. In the 1980s, although Finland’s metal mineral landslides and limestone mining remained flat, its non-metallic minerals are promising. In terms of volume, apatite production is mainly related to non-metallic mineral extraction. In recent years, the production of talc and wollastonite has been relatively high. Like limestone, it is used as stone chips and fillers. As far as the value of imported minerals is concerned, kaolin accounts for almost 60% of the total. Therefore, in the geological prospecting exploration plan in Finland, the prospecting work for kaolin deposits has been included on the important agenda.
