Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors play an important role in cellular energy metabolism. Previous studies have shown that in a variety of myocardial lesions have varying degrees of myocardial energy metabolism disorders, myocardial metabolic imbalance of fatty acids and glucose may be the pathophysiology of cardiac dysfunction. In recent years, with the development of gene knockout and gene overexpression technology, we have provided a more convenient and unique way to understand the function of cardiac peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor. The progress in this aspect is reviewed.
