At the Transplantation Society’s New York conference, Professor Najarian at the University of Minnesota Hospital reported that patients with diabetes who underwent islet cell transplantation had lower insulin requirements. Islet cell lines are from the pancreas of infants or adult fresh cadaver. Ten patients underwent islet cell transplantation. Including 7 patients with advanced renal allografts due to diabetic nephropathy who had normal kidney function was normal; transplant islet cell transplantation, patients are using immunosuppressive therapy. Islet cell transplantation methods: intraperitoneal in 5 cases, intramuscular in 1 case, the portal vein in 4 cases; of which the portal vein may be the best site for the liver to accept the portal vein and hepatic artery two good blood supply. The number of transplanted cells is also different. The amount of islet tissue is calculated from its total insulin content and is expressed as a percentage of normal adult pancreas, with 14% being intramuscularly grafted, <1% -8% intraperitoneally, <1% ~ 11%. After transplantation, 3 cases of insulin
