Before the Third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee, there were only 6 prefecture-level cities and 3 county-level cities in our province, now increasing to 8 prefecture-level cities and 20 county-level cities. There are currently 2.4534 million ethnic minorities in the province, accounting for 9.15% of the total population in the province. The urban minority population is 900,000, accounting for more than 30% of the total population of ethnic minorities in the province.
