植20—5是桂朝2号与 IR29组配,用系谱法选育出来的早晚兼用型水稻新品种。经多年多点大面积验证,一般亩产400—450公斤,高产的超过500公斤。测试证明对广东的四个稻白叶枯病菌群表现较一致的抗病性,对优势种群 IV 群的抗病等级为1.45—1.48级,与 IR26的1.25级相比较,同属于高抗级范围。人工接种我省稻瘟病菌优势生理小种中 B 群的抗性比为86%,对全群抗性比为78%。基本属于广谱抗病性。生产上对上述两种病害一般无须用药。该品种同时具有苗期较耐寒、耐浸、耐咸酸、耐肥抗倒和不易落粒等抗逆性能。米质鉴定为正三级。
