“《中国话剧,市民与主义的起点》称:‘从辛亥革命到文化大革命,中国人首先要的是炸弹和狂呼,而不是艺术和审美。’在这开幕的各个角落里,我们似乎都被轰炸和震喝着。”这是2007年的798艺术节的印象留言。与上海的艺术博览会的热闹相比,北京2008年的798节也值得期待。798艺术节邀请著名美术批评家王林作为总策展人,一方面是通过展览、论坛等展示中国当代艺术的最新创作成就,集结中外美术界、艺评界的学术力量。另一方面则是通过各种公众活动,提高公众参与当代艺术的文化兴趣,让更多的人了解当代艺术特别是中国当代艺术的创作成果。2008年“北京798艺术节”于9月28日在798艺术区内隆重举办。9月28日当天下午举办798艺术节开幕式及VIP酒会、主题展及Loft雕塑展预展、摇滚音乐晚会等多项活动。艺术节为期三周,活动将持续到10月18日。活动内容包括主题展、Loft户外雕塑展、特别展、同盟展、影像展、音乐会、学术论坛等活动。

On the afternoon of September 28, the opening ceremony of the 798 Art Festival and the VIP reception, themed exhibitions, the preview of the Loft Sculpture Exhibition, the Rock Music Gala and many other activities were held on the afternoon of the same day. The festival lasts for three weeks and will last until October 18. Activities include thematic exhibitions, Loft outdoor sculpture exhibition, special exhibitions, the League exhibition, video exhibitions, concerts, academic forums and other activities.
