为了深化教育改革,全面推进素质教育,河南省在2008年开始了新一轮的课程改革,在《基础课程改革纲要(试行)》中提出“改变课程实施过于强调接受学习、死记硬背、机械训练的现状,倡导学生主动参与、乐于探究、勤于动手,培养学生搜集和处理信息的能力、获取新知识的能力、分析和解决问题的能力以及交流与合作的能力。”为实现此目标,就必须进行教学方式的革新,而教学方式的革新必须“以学生为本”。采用探究式教学被认为是课堂教学改革的理想选择.也是地理教学方法改革的趋势。
