自从欧洲启蒙运动以来,“人生而平等”的思想便已渐渐深入人心。人类在为自然界的生物划分等级的时候忘记了人类自身也存在着森严的等级,虽说关于“生命等级”的叙述在中国古代也时常若隐若现,然而在《红楼梦》中却才显得分外惹眼。曹雪芹通过“人秉有天地之气”的不同对生命的等级进行出了精彩而形象的描述,并将生命的等级按“正册”、“副册”、“又副册”的形式进行了排列。
