马本斋(1902-1944),回族,河北人。少年读书,青年闯外当兵,后回故乡务农。1937年日寇侵占华北冀中平原,马本斋带头组织回民义勇队抗日,屡建战功。1938年2月带队参加共产党领导的八路军,9月加入中国共产党。1944年2月7日,在冀鲁豫边区政府所在地病逝。
Ma Benzhai (1902-1944), Hui, Hebei. Juvenile study, youth break into soldiers, back hometown farming. In 1937, the Japanese invaded and encroached upon the plains of North China and Jizhong, and Ma Benzhai took the lead in organizing the Hui people’s courageous army to fight Japan’s war of resistance and repeatedly built its meritorious service. The Eighth Route Army led by the Communist Party in February 1938 joined the Chinese Communist Party in September. February 7, 1944, died in the area where the government of the border areas of Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces were located.
