蚕豆收获之后，其茎秆一般用作燃料烧掉，但若用来栽培草菇，则是一种仅次于棉籽壳的优质原料。笔者经多年的生产实践证明，用蚕豆秆栽培草菇，产量是稻麦草原料的２～３倍，可与棉籽壳相媲美，每１００kg原料经栽培后可产鲜草菇４０kg左右，收入４００余元。其栽培技术如下。?
After harvest, the stalks are generally used as fuel to burn the fava beans, but if used to grow straw mushrooms, they are a good source of raw material inferior to cottonseed husks.
