The mammalian fossils collected from the Early Pleistocene caves deposits in the Zhoukoudian area of Beijing are described in this paper. There are 30 species of 5 genera and 23 genera in total, mainly Crocidurasp and Lepussp. Hypolagusof. brachypus, Alilepuszhoukoudianensissp. nov Sciurotamiaspraecox, Spermophilus? sp, Allocricetusehiki, Cricetirnus varians, Cricetulusobs curus, Hyperacrius yenshanensis, Alticolasp. Allophaiomysof. pliocaenicus, Proedromysofbedfordi, Lasiopodomysprobrandtisp, Apodemus dominans, Apodemuslatronum, Niviventerpreconfucianus, Musof. musculus, Chardinomysnihewanicus. According to the study, the fauna of the Dongshen Cave in the Taiping Mountains was later than that of the fauna in the 18th place of the Gray Valley (early Early Pleistocene) and earlier than the Gongwangling fauna (late Early Pleistocene) in Shaanxi Province. The fauna represents a climate that is drier and cooler.
