《董存瑞舍身炸暗堡》通过对英雄董存瑞的大量正面描写,表现出他为革命勇于牺牲的精神。而《军神》一课,则采用正面描写和侧面描写相结合的方法,表现出刘伯承如钢铁般的坚强意志。两篇文章都塑造了鲜明的英雄人物,但特点截然不同,表现手法也各有侧重。尤其是对于侧面描写的使用,是多数学生第一次接触。从理解、评价人物的角度出发,揣摩侧面描写的作用,完全可以通过两篇文章相比较的方法来实现。
