语言是文化的一部分,受文化影响,在文化环境中形成发展;它承载文化,同时又反映文化特征。语言与文化紧密相连,抽离了文化内容的语言,仅是一套抽象、机械的符号系统。从语言学习的角度讲,学一门语言也是学一种文化。所以大学英语教学要同时重视文化教学,要了解英语国家的历史和文化背景,为今后顺利使用外语和胜任跨文化交际打好基础。
Language is part of culture, influenced by culture, and developed in a cultural environment; it carries culture while reflecting cultural characteristics. Language and culture are closely linked and the language of cultural content is removed. It is only an abstract, mechanical symbol system. From the perspective of language learning, learning a language is also about learning a culture. Therefore, college English teaching should pay attention to cultural teaching at the same time. It is necessary to understand the history and cultural background of English-speaking countries and lay a good foundation for the successful use of foreign languages in the future and for intercultural communication.
