SEA—ME—WE3国际海底光缆系统是由东南亚—中东—西欧的新的海底光缆工程。该海底光缆是目前世界上最长的一条国际海底光缆系统,全长约3万km。将连接太平洋、东南亚、中东、西欧等地区的法国、意大利、埃及、吉布提、阿拉伯联合酋长国、印度、斯里兰卡、泰国、马来西亚、新加坡、中国等许多国家。系统将采用SDH 10Gbit/s技术,以满足不断增长的异步转移模式(ATM)及高清晰度电视等宽带业务的需求。该项目耗资12亿美元,涉及到78家电信部门。
The SEA-ME-WE3 International Submarine Cable System is a new submarine fiber optic cable project from Southeast Asia to the Middle East to Western Europe. The submarine cable is currently the world’s longest an international submarine cable system, a total length of about 30,000 km. Will connect many countries such as France, Italy, Egypt, Djibouti, United Arab Emirates, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and China in the Pacific, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Western Europe. The system will use SDH 10Gbit / s technology to meet the growing demand for broadband services such as asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) and high-definition television. The project cost 1.2 billion US dollars, involving 78 telecommunications sector.
