本文将从目的论的角度,结合“信、达、雅”翻译原则,来评析严复对《天演论》的翻译。目的论始于20世纪的德国,旨在纠正之前过分注重语言层面的语码转换,而忽视目标语文化的翻译现象。该理论主要包括三大原则,即目的法则,连贯法则和忠实法则。笔者将通过目的论的三大理论,结合“信(忠实准确地传达原文的内容)、达(译文通顺流畅)、雅(译文有文采,文字典雅)”理论分析和赏评严复翻译的《天演论》,从而得知该译本中的得失。希望通过本文,可以让大家对严复的《天演论》能有一个更加客观和深入的认识。
This essay will analyze Yan Fu’s translation of “Evolution and Ethics” from the perspective of Skopos theory and the translation principle of “Faith, Darcy and Grace”. Skopos theory began in the 20th century in Germany, aimed at correcting the overexploitation before the language level of code-switching, while ignoring the translation of the target language culture. The theory includes three main principles, namely the purpose of law, coherent law and loyalty law. Through the three major theories of teleology, the author will combine “faith (faithfully and accurately conveying the content of the original text),” “(smooth translation), elegant translation ”Evolution and Ethics", which learned the translation of gains and losses. I hope that through this article, we can have a more objective and in-depth understanding of Yan Fu’s Evolution Theory.
