民主集中制是我们党一贯坚持的根本组织原则,是党内政治生活的根本制度,并被运用于国家的政治生活,成为我们国家的根本制度。然而,当我们党提出建立社会主义市场经济体制的目标后,有的人却对民主集中制存在的价值和意义产生了疑问,发生了动摇,认为民主集中制是特定历史条件的产物,只适用于战争年代和计划经济年代,与市场经济条件下的多元利益关系不相适应,甚至认为民主集中制会束缚人们的手脚,妨碍市场经济的有效运转,影响经济发展。那么,发展社会主义市场经济与坚持党的民主集中制原则到底有无矛盾?怎样结合社会主义市场经济的特点坚持和健全民主集中制?本文试作如下探讨。

They even thought that democratic centralism would restrict people’s hands and feet, impede the effective operation of market economy and affect economic development. How can the development of the socialist market economy adhere to the principle of democratic centralism of the party in the end? How to adhere to and improve democratic centralism in light of the characteristics of the socialist market economy?
