构建社会主义和谐社会,反映了建设社会主义现代化国家的内在要求,体现了广大人民群众的根本利益和共同愿望,丰富和发展了社会主义本质属性的内涵,开辟了中国特色社会主义的新理论。党中央提出社会主义和谐社会是“民主法治、公平正义、诚信友爱、充满活力、安定有序,人与自然和谐相处”发展的社会,企业是社会的基本细胞,是社会财富的直接创造者,是构建和谐社会的重要载体,构建和谐企业是构建和谐社会的重要基础,也是现代社会对企业的基本要求。
