一提起细菌,人们总有些憎恨:它使果树生病,使水果霉烂,使食物变馊。其实,说细菌都是坏东西也不公正。有不少细菌不但对人无害,而且还能帮助人们消灭害虫、保护农作物。近年来农业生产上应用微生物防治害虫,就是采取以菌灭虫的新方法。由于这些微生物小得用肉眼根本看不到,并且象农药一样杀死害虫,因此,人们称它是“微生物农药”。
People always have some hatred when it comes to bacteria: they make the fruit tree sick, rotten the fruit and make the food go bad. In fact, it is not fair to say that bacteria are bad things. Many bacteria not only harm people, but also help people eliminate pests and protect crops. In recent years, the application of microbial control of pests in agricultural production, is to take a new method of sterilization of bacteria. Because these microorganisms are so small that they can not be seen with the naked eye and kill pests like pesticides, they are called “microbial pesticides.”
