Universal ball joint a drive technique with great breakthrough developed with universal coupling.In more 35 years,with struggling and fighting toughly,Japanese Industrial Standards(JIS) B 1454-1977 started with learning the foreign references.It associated to coupling industrial standard.Two types of universal boll joint A,B,AA,BB were established.In more 12 years,JIS B 1454-1988 standard of universal boll joints made alterations of six types,such as A,B,C,AA,BB and CC types.AA type universal boil joint is formed connection of A type and A type joint and so on.Presently,Japanese technologists are engaged in popularizing and applying the achievements of different type joint quickly and realizing domestic industries to provide the best service for the national economy and improve joint to a new development stage in Japan.This research deals with a modern history of universal joints from the viewpoints of the design,manufacture and testing.Next,the description include their structures,shapes and heat treatment of one of their components,i.e., the lubricating oil,as well as their testing methods,standards,and manufacture.
