一、引言不可否认,翻译损失因不同语言和文化间存在的诸多差异而在所难免。文学翻译中的损失尤为突出,而其间最易产生的损失又当属审美层面的损失,因为文学作品是凝聚高度语言艺术和审美情趣的载体。因此,审美补偿对于文学翻译意义重大,研究翻译审美补偿问题是搞好文学翻译的必经之路。本文在探讨文学翻译的审美补偿问题时,以莫言的经典小说《师傅越来越幽默》英译本为例,来探讨译者是如何践行审美补偿策略从而将文学翻译提升至翻译文学水准的。
I. INTRODUCTION It is undeniable that the loss of translation is inevitable due to many differences between languages and cultures. The loss in literary translation is particularly prominent, while the most easily incurred loss in the meantime falls into the loss of aesthetic level, because literary works are the carriers of high linguistic art and aesthetic taste. Therefore, aesthetic compensation is of great significance to literary translation. Studying aesthetic compensation of translation is the only way to improve literary translation. In this paper, we discuss the English translation of Master’s more and more humorous novels when discussing the aesthetic compensation of literary translation as an example to explore how the translator practices aesthetic compensation strategies to elevate literary translation to literary translation.
