In the different perspectives of traditional Chinese culture and Indian Buddhist culture, the mandarin duck objects derive their own symbolic meanings. In this paper, we take the mandarin duck as the object of this kind of animal, through the comparison between the traditional literature and the Buddhist literature, to explore the specific meaning of the mandarin duck in two categories of literature and some misunderstandings and the creation of the traditional literature in the construction of the mandarin duck image. In the Buddhist literature, the mandarin duck has the symbolic significance of the religious symbolism that is attached to the intrinsic attributes of the mandarin duck who is devoted to the path of bestiality and animal husbandry. In the middle-earth literature, the symbol of “Sage”, “friend”, “brother” Meaning, as a symbol of loving love later, at least in the first Tang Dynasty was in a clear weakness. It is precisely because of the symbolism of the Buddhist scriptures to accept the infiltration, Yuanyang finally developed into a symbol of love in Chinese classical literature, a symbol of love.
