In 1942, when a group of U.S. scientists started nuclear reactors in a strictly confidential laboratory at the University of Chicago, it was thought that this was the first epoch-making nuclear reactor. But who knows, as early as about 1.8 billion years ago, natural reactors began to run on Earth. At the Orko uranium in Gabon, Africa, six fossil reactors are buried. These reactors reached a critical mass in the ore-rich uranium ore of the Oklo Mine, consumed some of the fuel and then rested and slumped 318 million years underground, culminating in 1972 by French scientists.
