互联网通讯正在飞速增长,其增长率比人们预计的摩尔法则还要快得多,由此也产生了对替代以掺铒光纤放大器(EDFAs)为基础的传统波分复用传输技术发展的迫切要求。由于数字通讯所占的百分比超过语音通讯,全球网络必须由语音中心系统发展为数字中心系统。发展趋势要求比传统波分复用具有更高性能和更远距离传输。
Internet traffic is growing at a much faster rate than the expected Moore’s law, resulting in an urgent need for the development of alternative wavelength division multiplexing transmission technology based on erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs) . As digital communications account for a larger percentage of voice communications, global networks must evolve from voice-centric systems to digital-centric systems. The trend of development requires higher performance and longer range transmission than traditional wavelength division multiplexing.
