魏文达(1905~1994年),天津人。1919年至1924年就读于天津南开中学。1928年至1934年在上海东吴大学比较法学院学习,获学士学位。1934年至1935年在英国伦敦特许保险学院进修。1935年至1949年在东吴大学比较法学院和上海大夏大学任教授,讲授海商法,研究海上保险,同时执行律师事务,处理海损理算事宜。从1962年起,魏文达转入上海海运学院(现上海海事大学)任教,
Wei Wenda (1905 ~ 1994), Tianjin. From 1919 to 1924 studied at Tianjin Nankai Middle School. From 1928 to 1934 in Shanghai Soochow University Comparative Law School, bachelor’s degree. From 1934 to 1935 in the United Kingdom London Institute of Insurance training. From 1935 to 1949, he was a professor at Soochow University School of Comparative Law and Shanghai Daxia University, teaching maritime law, studying maritime insurance, and performing legal affairs at the same time to handle maritime losses. From 1962, Wei Wenda taught to Shanghai Maritime University (now Shanghai Maritime University)
