中国当代艺术经历了从1979年“星星画展”到85、86年的“新潮美术运动”,从1989年的中国前卫艺术展到90年代艺术观念的多元化和艺术语言的日趋成熟。在起伏跌荡的过程中,中国前卫艺术的丰富性和多样性一直受到主流文化的排斥,同时它的实验精神又不断向主流文化体系挑战,建立了非主流的审美价值和位置。如果说80年代的艺术家追求英雄主义和集体主义,那么90年代的艺术家则强调媒介的多样性和个性创造。如果说80年代以引进西方现代哲学——理性主义作为思想解放的工具,艺术家更多地模仿西方现代主义时期的艺术;那么90年代的中国当代艺术家则在走过曲折艰辛之路后,
Chinese contemporary art has undergone a “trendy art movement” from the “Star Art Exhibition” in 1979 to the year 85 and 86. From 1989, China’s avant-garde art exhibition to the diversification of artistic concepts in the 1990s and the growing maturity of artistic language. In the ups and downs, the richness and diversity of Chinese avant-garde art has always been rejected by the mainstream culture, while its experimental spirit has continuously challenged the mainstream cultural system and established a non-mainstream aesthetic value and position.
