Packaging materials are widely used in the world, such as food, industrial products, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, household appliances and so on. ISO reached an agreement two years ago on establishing international standards for packaging materials and the environment. In 2009, 2010 and 2011, the ISO organized a series of international seminars in Stockholm, China, Beijing, Japan, Tokyo, and Atlanta, respectively There will be lively discussions on such a highly complex and socially relevant issue as packaging materials and the environment. From May 2-6, 2011, ISO representatives from all stakeholders in the packaged goods supply chain around the world gathered in Atlanta, United States to discuss the draft International Standard for Packaging Materials and the Environment that meets the requirements of all stakeholders (DIS )text.
