大连市艺术学校实验京剧团前年夏天到上海演出时,曾发生过一件饶有风趣的事。淮海公园每天清晨都有几十位退休职工在一起谈天。这天讲到这个新到的陌生剧团,有人就说:“一个学校的实验剧团,没一个名角儿,水平笃定高不了。”也有人说:“还是看看戏再发议论。”他们决定先派一名“代表”去看戏,若好,大家再去看。第二天,“代表”兴致勃勃地说:“蛮好!蛮好!一台年轻人阵容整齐,演出认真,个个卖力气。”于是几十个老头连看了好几场演出。大连艺校实验京剧团是由1972年入校,1977年毕业的学生组成。当时因考虑到他们基础差,学校决定让他们留校建立实验京剧团,继续培训,补上传统戏这一课。在师生共同努力下,三年来,他们排演了十来个大戏,三十几出折子戏,通过不断演出和实践,涌现了一批舞台新秀。
