素质教育是教育改革和发展的趋势,也是社会进步、民族素质提高的必然要求。经济及知识的全球化、国际化,使英语应用能力成为影响整个国民素质和民族状况的基本因素。在英语课程的教学中,我们必须要提倡素质教育进而为学生创设多种多样的实际情境,激发学生的好奇心和探索欲望,启发培养学生多思维的意识及习惯,促使他们能够独立解决一定数量的在英语语言学习中遇到的问题,自如地运用英语,听说读写能力全面上升,从真正意义上提高学生的英语水平。
