The rapid development of clean energy has reduced local pollution but left the source of pollution, the excessive exploitation of rare earths, at home. On March 26, 2014, the World Trade Organization released the report of the panel of experts on export control measures of China’s rare earth, tungsten and molybdenum-related products from the United States, the European Union and Japan on March 26, 2014, and ruled that the export restrictions imposed by China violate the provisions of free trade. This latest ruling not only means that the Rare Earth Export Quotas, which China has implemented since 2005, will come to an end, but it also raises discussions on a series of issues surrounding rare earths. And regardless of the United States, the European Union, Japan
