民族旅游中的“饮食符号”是旅游消费系统中的符号,也是民族旅游地文化中的符号,这使得其具有自我表达和符号价值的内外化二元象征性。作为民族旅游地文化符号它具有丰富的对内交流的符号意义,具有类比、追求理想及交流媒介等象征意义;作为对外交流的符号,其主要功能是与旅游者社会文化进行交流,旨在向社会外部传递旅游者地位变化、角色变更、自我表达与认同等信息。
