可以说,美国在线和时代华纳的合并表明宽带将主宰今后的互联网接入市场。随着越来越多的家庭和商业用户采用宽带接入技术,未来的互联网会发生许多变化。 宽带技术的广泛采用不仅会促进市场对多媒体内容的巨大需求,而且还会引起系统平台领域的重大变化。而宽带通信所产生的深刻影响,或许就是信息结构的根本变化。商业化的视频和音频节日点播服务将应运而生,而任伺一个网络用户都可以成为视频或者音频广播员。宽带互联网所提供的丰富多彩的多媒体信息将在很大程度上削弱传统媒体企业所具有的影响力。 宽带网的建设和发展为“精彩”电子商务创造了条件。但电子商务的精彩与否,不仅要靠理论家对“精彩”的定义,更要靠厂商们对“精彩”架构的建设以及“精彩”应用内容的不断丰富。

Commercial video and audio on-demand services will emerge as the times require, and any Internet user can become a video or audio announcer. The rich and colorful multimedia information provided by broadband Internet will greatly weaken the influence of traditional media enterprises. The construction and development of broadband network create the conditions for “wonderful” e-commerce. However, the wonderful or not of e-commerce depends not only on the definition of “wonderful” by theorists, but also on the manufacturers’ enrichment of the “wonderful” architecture and the application of “wonderful” content.
