与绝大多数CVC不同的是,获得Qualcomm Ventures投资的企业不用太担心日后会成为高通并购的目标5年前,高通公司开始在全球推广一项总额为5亿美元的创业投资计划,3年后,高通宣布将这项投资计划中国的20%, 即1亿美元投向中国。与大多数企业期望通过创业投资(Corporate Venture Capital,简称CVC)将产业内具有潜质的公司化敌为友的做法不同的是,高通的算盘是通过Qualcomm Ventures来实现其打造CDMA社区的想法。
Unlike most CVCs, companies that invest in Qualcomm Ventures do not have to worry too much about the future of Qualcomm’s acquisitions. Five years ago, Qualcomm began rolling out a $ 500 million venture capital program globally. Three years later Qualcomm announced that it will invest 20% of China’s investment plan, or 100 million U.S. dollars, into China. Unlike most companies looking to befriend corporate potential rivals in the industry through corporate venture capital (CVC), Qualcomm’s abacus is the idea of Qualcomm Ventures building its CDMA community.
