The international discussion on development emerged in the wake of the Second World War in the last century. The evolution of the concept of development also began here. In the initial stage of development study, the concept of development has a clear tendency of materialism, manifested in that development is confined to economic development, economic development is equivalent to economic growth, and the development is attributed to the accumulation of material products. The formation of the traditional concept of development, in theory, inherited the idea of early industrialization, in practice it stems from the material deficiencies after World War II, the need to be eliminated. However, this concept of development centered on the accumulation of material capital, which was modeled after the early industrialization, neglected the diversity and complexity of the development of human society and resulted in the mad predation of resources and the serious damage to the environment, The conditions on which humankind depends for survival and development also motivate people to start reconsidering the true meaning of development. The following is a representative of the authors we recommend to readers in the evolution of the development concept.
