本文对甲午战争中李鸿章的军事、政治、外交上的表现作出了新的评价,认为李鸿章在甲午海战中的“指示”无可厚非,其“保船制敌”的军事方针符合当时中日海军力量对比的实际情况,是可取的。至于战争前的外交活动与军事准备,李鸿章的作为也是有其一定积极意义的。对此观点,我们欢迎展开讨论,希望有关学者踊跃发表意见。
This article makes a new assessment of Li Hongzhang’s military, political and diplomatic performance during the Sino-Japanese War, believing that Li Hongzhang’s instructions in the Sino-Japanese War of Manchu are understandable and that his military policy of “defending the enemy through enemy ships” is in line with that of the naval forces at that time. The actual situation is desirable. As for the pre-war diplomatic activities and military preparations, Li Hongzhang’s actions have their own positive significance. From this point of view, we welcome discussions that hope the relevant scholars will express their opinions enthusiastically.
