张骞是西汉外交家、探险家、旅行家。他是我国历史上最早出使西域的人。西汉前期,居住在我国北方的游牧民族匈奴,经常南下侵扰掠夺。汉武帝即位时,西汉王朝经过六十多年休养生息,经济繁荣,国力强盛。汉武帝决心解除匈奴多年来对汉朝的威胁,积极进行军事反击的准备工作。当时西域有三十六个小国,其中大的有几十万人,小的只有一、二千人。
Zhang Qian is a Western Han diplomat, explorer and traveler. He is the earliest person in the history of our country to enlist the Western Regions. In the early Western Han Dynasty, the nomadic Huns, who lived in northern China, often attacked and plundered southward. As the emperor of the Han Dynasty took the throne, the Western Han Dynasty recuperated for more than sixty years and enjoyed economic prosperity and strong national power. Han Wudi determined to lift the Huns over the years the threat to the Han Dynasty, and actively prepare for the military counterattack. At that time there were 36 small countries in the western region, of which hundreds of thousands were large and only 1,200 were small.
