常熟千斤顶厂是一家有三十年千斤顶生产历史的专业厂,虽然生产千斤顶比较早,但基础差,底子薄,规模小。1984年前年产量最高未超过3万台,出口仅几千台。但是在七五计划后的几年中,尤其是进入八五以后,在国务院1985(128)号文件的指引下,坚持外贸出口为主导,工厂以每年翻一番的速度发展,实现了经济的腾飞,1996年度生产千斤顶384万台,其中出口283万台,内销100万台,出口创汇
