黔南、黔东南地区的苗族、布依族是贵州省居住的主要少数民族区域,在生产生活中,和汉族杂居,城镇化与生活方式等发生改变后,民族舞蹈的创编手法,表现形式也发生了一系列变化,比如苗族的鼓舞、芦笙舞,布依族的织布舞、狮子舞、板凳舞、等都或多或少融入现代舞的流畅,过渡夸张、抽象、象征性意味、而避免写实的表现形式,这对民族传统舞蹈传承是不利的,但对民族舞蹈的发展创新提供了新的方向,总的来说,这样的变化利大于弊。
