从“大哥大”到“笔记本先生”手机最初进入中国时,是叫做“大哥大”的。第一批用户是中国先富起来的那一部分人──大款。这个小小的通讯工具,在90年代初几乎是财富、能力和成功的象征,“手机腰里挎”简直就是腰缠万贯的标志。于是手机在当时具有两种作用:一种用来打给对方听,另一种是打给别人看。那时的机主们流行专门找人多的地方,把声音抬高到世界第一男高音帕瓦罗蒂那种高度,得意洋洋地说:“喂,今晚我有个应酬,不回家吃饭啦……”
