This paper first demonstrates that the accuracyand efficiency of the method of numerical simulation oftenused is not very high in predicting the slow drift surge extremeresponses of a compliant offshore structure. Next, the slowdrift surge extreme responses of the structure are analyzedvia the path integral solution (PIS) method, and the accuracyand efficiency of the PIS method is found to be higherthan those of the numerical simulation method. A compoundPIS (CPIS) method is first proposed in this article to furtherimprove the efficiency of the path integral solution method,and the accuracy and efficiency of the CPIS method is validated.
