文冠果又名文灯果、木瓜,是我国特产的珍贵观赏花木。花序大而花朵密,春天白花满树,绿叶光洁,花期可持续二十余天。有时全树花可变异为紫红色,十分美观,花落结实,未熟时皮青如未熟之桃,8月末果实成熟后为鲜黄色,可供观赏。据测定,种子含油量为30.18％,种仁含量为66.89％,是木本油料树种中的佼佼者。其油味美可食,又可作工业原料。文冠果为落叶灌木或小乔木,适应性强,对土壤
