Nox(phagocyte-like NADPH oxidase)是吞噬细胞NADPH氧化酶催化亚基gp91phox的一系列同源物,广泛分布于体内多种非吞噬细胞.
Nox (phagocyte-like NADPH oxidase) is a series of homologues of phagocyte NADPH oxidase catalytic subunit gp91phox widely distributed in many non-phagocytic cells in the body. Like NADPH oxidase, Nox activates and produces ROS and Nox production Of ROS is the main source of extracellular mitochondrial ROS.Nox produces ROS, which play roles in controlling metabolism, regulating glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS), promoting pancreatic β-cell apoptosis, islet dysfunction and diabetes and their complications It plays an important role in the occurrence and development of the disease.Adjusting the activity of Nox and improving the level of oxidative stress in the body is expected to become a new effective way to treat diabetes and its complications.
