中国美术家协会第七次全国代表大会于2008年12月11日在北京召开。中共中央政治局委员、书记处书记、中宣部部长刘云山出席大会并作重要讲话。出席本次会议的代表是经由各省、市、自治区美协,中直系统和部队等团体会员单位推选产生的,共计421人。香港,澳门特别行政区推荐的美术家首次以正式代表的身份出席,这也是中国文联各文艺家协会全国代表大会首次接纳香
The 7th National Congress of Chinese Artists Association was held in Beijing on December 11, 2008. Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Secretariat and Minister of the Propaganda Department, attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. Representatives attending this meeting were elected through a group of member units of the provinces, cities, autonomous regions, the United Artists Association, China Straight System and the armed forces, a total of 421 people.
