“稻花会”是桃花岛上的传统迎神赛会活动,明清以来,一般每年举办一次,辐射范围达到沿海诸省,在舟山的历史上有较大影响。1948年之后,“稻花会”停办。1995年起,更名为“桃花会”重新举办。在举办“桃花会”的过程中,桃花岛镇政府并未按目前通行的做法进行包办,而是放手让民间自己操办,延续了“稻花会”的模式,从组织到资金筹集还保留浓厚的民间自发性,是一个较为成功的传统节庆活动传承案例。
