A4A是黄冈市农科院自育的籼型三系野败不育系,2009年通过湖北省农作物品种审定委员会审定。该不育系品质优,直链淀粉含量高,垩白粒率和垩白度低;生育期短,属长江流域感温性强的早籼早熟类型不育系;不育性稳定,花粉败育彻底;柱头较大、外露率高、生活力强;开花习性好,花时较早;株高适中,株叶形态理想,抗倒性好;对“九二○”反应敏感;配合力强,容易配出米质达国标3级以上的杂交稻组合。
